# VAINSANE Releases Psychological Horror Visual Novel Mortality... Please on Steam

Mortality... Please is available now on Steam for Windows, macOS, and Linux following its October 9, 2026 launch: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5075750/

Developed and published by VAINSANE, Mortality... Please is a short psychological horror visual novel centered on Penelope, a young woman who hides her fear of growing older. She becomes close to Kyte, a calm and charming nineteen-year-old whose appearance in a 1984 yearbook raises questions about his identity and condition.

The mystery expands when Ursa arrives with photographs and letters after spending much of her life waiting for an explanation. Kyte also reveals that his father vanished after leaving behind a locked box and a warning never to open it. As Penelope investigates the archive and the possible connection between the box and Kyte’s condition, she faces a series of moral dilemmas.

Choices made throughout the story shape Penelope’s attitudes and decisions, leading to three distinct endings and determining what happens to Kyte. The presentation combines orthographic environments, cinematic backdrops, dramatic character close-ups, unsettling motion graphics, and an eerie soundtrack.

A Steam page for the demo is available at https://store.steampowered.com/app/5075760/. More information about VAINSANE is available at https://vainsane.com/.
