# Psychological Horror Visual Novel Mother;Above Is Available Now on Steam

Mother;Above is available now on Steam for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Developed and published by VAINSANE, the psychological horror visual novel was released on September 11, 2026. A demo is also available on Steam.

Set in Matoki, the story follows Vik, a drainage terminal depot worker living in a city that is flooded to keep the city Above dry. His mother was transferred Above while he was left behind, and the routes upward have since been sealed. A restricted service tram may provide access to the flood-control annex—and a possible route to answers.

Vik joins Sava, Corn, and Braska as another catastrophe approaches. Corn’s mother is trapped in a clinic below, Braska has the security badge the group needs, and Sava possesses confidential forecasts that conflict with instructions telling residents to shelter above the third floor. As the group considers how to respond, Vik continues investigating his mother’s transfer and disappearance.

Choices made throughout Mother;Above shape Vik’s priorities and lead to three distinct endings. The visual novel uses orthographic environments, expressive character close-ups, passages of Vik’s thoughts and imagined letters, and audio that accompanies the rising water.
