Monologin Explores Escapism and Isolation Through a Dying MMORPG
The short psychological horror visual novel follows a night-shift worker searching for meaning in an online world that almost everyone else has abandoned.
Overview
Monologin is a short, choice-driven psychological horror visual novel developed and published by VAINSANE Studios. Set during a quiet convenience-store night shift, it follows Leo as he waits to return to EdenVale Online, an aging MMORPG hosting a rare White Unicorn event. Through encounters with Ari, Dai, Piko, and Uma, the story examines loneliness, projection, online identity, superiority, and the fear of being left behind. Designed to last approximately 30 minutes, the game uses a dual-perspective structure and leads to three endings. Monologin is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux via Steam.
